The Directorate of Border Crossing Infrastructure under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania implements the EU funded project "Modernization of Medininkai Border Crossing Point"

The Directorate of Border Crossing Infrastructure under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania implements the large infrastructure project "Modernization of Medininkai Border Crossing Point" funded by European Neighborhood Instrument Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus 2014-2020.

The implementation of project starts on August 1, 2019 after the Grant Contract was signed.  The duration of the project - 30 months.

The project implemented in cooperation with the project partner -The Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus according to the Partnership Agreement, which was signed on December 31, 2018.

The amount of the project funded by the European Union is EUR 2500000.00, the total value of the project is EUR 3347181.00.

After the implementation of the Project will be constructed 8 lanes of road between Medininkai PKP and Kamennyj Log PKP, the capacity of vehicles will be increased to 6000 vehicles per day, and the safety of drivers and pedestrians will be increased. In order to enhance human resources knowledge, share best practices for improving border control processes and infrastructure 5 meetings for border crossing officers will be organized and conducted.
